Updating User Accounts

Accolade offers two ways to update multiple user accounts at the same time. You can either download user accounts in a spreadsheet format (See Importing and Updating Accolade User Accounts) or you can make all changes within Accolade from the User Admin dashboard.

You can also use the steps below to copy settings from one user to multiple users. This is helpful for editing permissions for a group of users at one time.

To update multiple user accounts:

  1. From the System menu, select Security & Groups > User Admin.
  2. Select the users that you wish to edit.

To narrow the list by function or user name, add the criteria to filter by in the appropriate filter text box. These filters are case insensitive.

  3. Click in the users panel to view details of selected users.

  4. Enter desired settings.

  5. Click Apply when finished.

To copy and apply user settings from one user account to multiple user accounts:

  1. From the System menu, select Security & Groups > User Admin.
  2. Select the users that you wish to edit.

To narrow the list by function or user name, add the criteria to filter by in the appropriate filter text box. These filters are case insensitive.

  3. Click in the users panel to view details of selected users.

  4. After selecting a user, click Done.

  5. To confirm your changes, click Apply.

Applying Template User Settings to Existing Users

In Accolade versions 16.0 and later, Administrators can apply the settings of an existing user (hereby referred to as a "template user") to other existing users. This can be done via the Accolade User Interface (UI), the application programming interface (API), or by using the User Importer feature. The instructions below discuss how to use the Accolade User Interface to apply the settings of a template user to an existing user. See Importing and Updating Accolade User Accounts for instructions on how to use the User Importer feature instead.

To apply template user settings to existing users in the Accolade User Interface:

  1. From the System menu, select Security & Groups > User Admin.
  2. Select one or more users to which the settings of the template user will be applied.

To select multiple users, first select one user. Then, press and hold the Shift key to select multiple in a row. Alternatively, press and hold the CTRL key and select multiple users from separate locations on the list..

  1. Click in the users panel to view details of selected users.

Note:  If there is a tick in attribute check-boxes, all users share this attribute. If there is a blue box in attribute check-boxes, one or more users share this attribute, but not all.

Important! Updates done to any attributes here will apply to all users.

  1. Click to select the template user whose settings you wish to apply to the group.

Copying configuration details from existing users ensures that users that you want to have the same permissions are set up identically. It allows you to assign most of the details automatically, including the initial All My Work page and Stages page column configurations, and only make a few changes to the user.

  2. Click Done and confirm your selections.
