Using Standard Process Models
New implementations from Accolade 15.3 onwards now come with a set of standard process models. Standard process models are a set of pre-fabricated, innovation processes that can be used immediately upon installing Accolade. The standard process models are designed to provide a clear framework for managing innovation initiatives. Using one of these pre-built models can lead to faster implementation and a streamlined innovation process.
These are the three standard process models available:
Classic New Product Development (5-phase) - This model is best used for projects that carry a high level of risk or are complicated to launch. It contains the full, five steps of a traditional phase-gate. In the first phase, you will define the concept and then review before moving forward to the second phase. In the second phase, you will build a business case for the product or initiative. In the third phase, you will develop your idea. In the fourth phase, you will test, validate, and then prepare to launch. In the fifth, final phrase, you execute the launch.
Fast-Track New Product Development (3-phase) - This model is best used for projects that have moderate risk and complexity. It contains three phases. In the first phase, you define the case and mature the idea. Next, you go progress to launch intent. In the second phase, you test and validate the idea, and you prep a validated idea for launch. In the third, final phase, you execute the launch.
Just Do It New Product Development (2-phase) - This model is best used for projects that have low risk and complexity or are smaller in scope. It contains two phases. In the first phase, you develop, test, and launch the project. In the second, final phase, you execute the launch.
