Manage Project Assignments Overview
The assigned Project Manager and Process Managers with Manage Team rights manage which team members on the project team are assigned to various portions of the project. Assignments include:
- Deliverable and Activity Owners - The project team member that is responsible for completing or driving the completion of the deliverable or activity.
- Gate Owners - The project team member responsible for entering gate details, setting gate meetings, entering gate decisions and managing gate documents.
- Workflow Action Owners - Members of the project team that are responsible for completing and reviewing portions for a document through a workflow.
Some project assignments can be determined from functions set in the process model, and are made automatically within the project. For example, if the team requires a Quality Assurance member, and there is only one member of the project team that is assigned to the Quality Assurance function, that team member is assigned to all the documents and tasks within the project that are set to that function. However, owners can be set manually at the project level, and at the individual document, gate, or workflow level as well.
