Managing Metric Trend Events for Portfolios

Trended metrics can be managed for projects in portfolios including scheduling metric trend events, deleting metric trend events, and displaying available trend events in a table. Scheduling metric trend events allows you to schedule trending without having to remember to run a trend to capture trended metrics. The Event Type filters the trended event list so you can quickly find events. Trended metric events can be deleted for portfolios which can be helpful to avoid cluttering the view and database. Process Managers with Manage Process rights, Project Managers and Idea Managers who own the project, and Team Members with extended project edit rights, can manage trend events for projects in the portfolio. Only Project Managers can set a schedule for trended metrics.

The table displays:

• Date – Date of the trended event.

• Event – Type of metric trend event. Custom trend events will display.

• Project – Project name for the entry in the event table. Displays only projects with user rights.

• Description

  • Migration – A project was migrated to a new process model.

  • Custom Trended – A custom event occurred which created the trend.

  • Gate Decision - A gate decision was made.

  • Migration – A project was migrated to a new process model.

  • Scheduled Trended - A trend was scheduled.

  • User Trended - A trend created using Capture Trended Metrics.

To manage trended metrics:

1. Display the project.
2. Click in the upper right corner of the page and select Manage Metric Trend Events.

To schedule trended metrics:

1. Display the project.
2. Click in the upper right corner of the page and select Manage Metric Trend Events.
3. Click Schedule.

4. Do one of the following:

   • Enter a date. The selected trend will run on the date selected.

   • Enter a date and check Repeat to schedule any of the following metric trend events:

     • Weekly

     • Monthly

     • Yearly
       

5. Click Apply.

To delete the capture of trended metrics:

1. Display the project.
2. Click in the upper right corner of the page and select Manage Metric Trend Events.
3. Click Edit Schedule.
4. Click Delete Schedule.
